A 38-year-old man, Gabriel Iliya Magaji, from Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has reportedly committed suicide after his wife admitted to sleeping with his friends in exchange for money.
Magaji’s body was discovered hanging in a classroom at Crystal School, Masaka, on Monday morning.
The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nansel Ramhan, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday.
He said, “On Monday, at about 7 a.m., a report was lodged by a staff member of Crystal School Masaka, stating that an unidentified man was found hanging in one of the classrooms.
“Upon receiving the report, the police, led by the DPO, arrived at the scene, untied the body, and took it to the General Hospital, Mararaba, where a doctor confirmed Magaji’s death.”
Nansel stated that while no suicide note was found on the deceased, investigations have begun to determine the cause of the tragedy.

However, a source familiar with the situation alleged that Magaji took his life after confronting his wife about her infidelity.
According to the source, Magaji’s wife admitted to sleeping with his friends for money, which she used to provide food for the family, including their three children.
