Man In Court For Stealing

A 23-year-old man, Abiodun Olasunkanmi has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magisterate court in Osun state over alleged theft of catfish valued about N800,000.

Olasunkanmi is facing a count charge bothering on theft.

The Prosecutor Inspector Fagboyinbo Abiodun told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 25, 2018 at about 5:30am at Rinsayo Area Osogbo.

Inspector Fagboyinbo said the defendant who is a worker at the fish pond stole large quantity of the catfish from the fish pond valued at (N800,000) property of One Mrs. Akinola Olubunmi.

He further said that the offence committed is contrary to section 383 and punishable under section 390(a) of criminal code CAP 34 vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the count charge against him.

The presiding magistrate, A.O. Oloyede granted the accused bail in the sum N500,000 with two sureties in the same sum.
