Man Destroys Airport Monitors After Booking Disagreement (Video)

A passenger has been captured on video destroying monitors at Santiago International Airport, Chile with a hammer due to a disagreement over a booked flight.

The incident happened on Tuesday with the passenger, a Haitian nationality, said to have engaged in the violent incident at the air terminal after discovering that the ticket he had purchased was never booked.

Lieutenant Manuel Narváez, Ronda officer of the Santiago Occidente Prefecture, gave details about the event that left material damage of approximately 20 million pesos, according to F1ONE news.

“During the course of the afternoon, a person of Haitian nationality, who had problems when boarding a flight he had purchased, realized that this flight was never booked,” said Lieutenant Narváez

This situation decanted in the minute of fury in the passenger, who took a hammer out of his suitcase and began to destroy the facilities of the Santiago International Airport.

The man used the hammer to damage the counters, screens and equipment of the counters where the check-in was done.

According to Narváez, “he worked in the construction sector here in Chile and was carrying several tools to be able to continue practising this same profession in his country, Haiti.”

In his statements to the police, the passenger claimed that he was the victim of a scam since he had bought a ticket to Miami and then continued to Haiti. “He accuses that he was scammed and, from there, his minute of anger and fury is generated,” the officer added.
