A 22-year old man, Nura Umar has been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Osogbo, capital of the State of Osun, over alleged assault.
Prosecutor, Ajayi Sunday told the court that the accused inflicted injury on the head of one Tijani Lukman when he (Umar) hit him with a stick on the 27th of December at Igbona area of the state.
He said the offense is contrary to and punishable under section 355 of the Criminal Code Cap 34, vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.
The accused however, pleaded not guilty of the charge preferred against him while his Counsel, Barrister Remigus Ngwu prayed the court for his bail in the most liberal terms.
Ngwu stated that the accused has reliable sureties and would not jump bail if granted.
In his ruling, Magistrate Adenike Olowolagba granted the accused bail of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till February 21, 2018.
