A 41-year-old man, Abeeb Owolabi was arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Osogbo for alleged fraud.
The suspect was docked on September 5, 2018, for allegedly obtaining the sum of N1,100,000 from Adetunji Adelabu under the pretence of selling one Toyota Corolla Saloon car to him which he failed to do and converted the money to his own use.
The Prosdecutor, Sergeant Fatoba Temitope said the defendant on January 15, 2014 at about 10: 00am at Sabo Area, Osogbo forged the receipt of one Lola Decency Motor Nigeria Limited Kilometer 4 Camp Junction, new Ikirun road, Osogbo with the intent that it would be acted upon as genuine and issue same as the Manager of the company to Adetunji Adelabu and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 467 (i) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 law of osun state of Nigeria, 2003.
He said the defendant on the same date forged sales agreement/ cash receipt with intent that it would be acted upon as genuine and issued same as the Manager of the company to one Adetunji Adelabu and thereby committed the offence contrary to and punishable under section 467 (1) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of the Osun state Nigeria, 2003.
The prosecutor,also told the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 7, 2014 at about 6pm at Sabo area Osogbo and thereby committed the offence contrary to section 419 of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2003.
However, the suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
The Magistrate A.A Olowolagba granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N2,000,000 with two sureties. The sureties must be civil servant of Grade level 6 above and swear to affidavit of means, adding that the investigative police officer should verify the address of the sureties.
The case was adjourned till October 10, 2018 for hearing.
