Man In Court For Stealing A Pair Of Shoe

A 29-year-old man, Anthony Omotosho was arraigned before Magistrate A. Sodamade over alleged stealing of a pair of shoe and cash sum of N4000. 

Anthony was docked on Wednesday on three count charges bearing on stealing, intent to commit felony and breach of peace.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Jafani Muslim informed the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 10, 2018 at about 3pm at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Osogbo.

He also explained further that the accused person conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace by hiding in the hospital’s private toilet.

The prosecutor stated that the defendant entered into the department of (SCBU) Special Care Baby Unit of the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Osogbo with intent to commit felony.

Jafani said that the suspect stole the sum of N4000 and a pair of shoe valued at N15,000 properties of one  Dr. Allem Noble and  Mrs. Ojo Morenike.

Anthony Omotosho pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.

The defence counsel, Mr Okobe Najite humbly applied for the bail of the accused person in the most liberal terms.

The Magistrate, Mrs. F A Sodamade granted the bail of the accused person in the sum of N50, 000 and one surety. The surety must be resident within the court jurisdiction and provide three years tax clearance certificate and valid means of identification.

The case was adjourned to August 2 for mentioned.
