A 45-year-old man, Samson Adedokun, has been ordered to be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling his 16-year-old daughter.
The Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje of the Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, gave the order on Friday.
Although the Magistrate did not take Adedokun’s plea, she directed the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
She adjourned the case until May 8 for DPP’s advice.
Adedokun, who resides in the Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos, is facing a charge of defilement.
Earlier, Police Prosecutor, SP Kehinde Ajayi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 13 at 7 pm in his house.
The defendant, according to Ajayi, forcefully had sexual intercourse with his daughter.
She said that the case was reported to the police and the defendant was arrested.
Ajayi said the offence contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.
