By Aishat OyebamijiA Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo has remanded a middle-aged man in prison custody over alleged armed robbery.
The charge sheet read in the court disclosed that the suspect armed himself with a locally made pistol and robbed one Ajayi Peter of his Toyota Camry car.
It added that the suspect also robbed the victim’s wife and two sister in laws of their valuables.
Among the properties he carted away were; a Samsung S8+ phone valued N260,000, a Samsung touch phone valued N35,000, a wrist watch valued N75,000 and Gold Bangles valued N600,000.
Other items are earrings, two Nokia phone, Ipad, an Infinix phone and cash sum of N260,000 with total venue of items stolen put at N5.8 million.
The offence committed, the charge sheet revealed is contrary to section 6(b) and punishable under section (1) of the robbery and firearms (special provisions) Act cap R11 vol.14 laws of the federation of Nigeria, 2004.
According to the charge sheet, the suspect committed the alleged offence at Osu junction along Ilesha road on April 12, 2018 at about 10:30pm.
However, the suspect’s plea was not taken due to the nature of his offence neither was he represented by any counsel.
Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Fatimat Sodamade ordered that the accused person should be remanded in Ilesha prison custody.
She later adjourned the case to November 26, 2018 for hearing.
