Man In Prison Over Phones Theft

A magistrate court sitting in Osogbo has remanded a 30-year-old man, Omoshowon Saheed in prison custody over alleged stealing of phones.
According to the charge sheet read in court, the suspect stole one Tecno Tab phone valued N150,000, at No 27, Alaafia street Agowande area, Osogbo sometimes in the month of February, 2018 at about 1:30am, property of one Arowo Anifat.
Also, the charge sheet alleged that the suspect stole a Tecno K7 and Infinix Note 3 mobile phones valued at N110,000, property of Balogun Adebukola and Agunshola Olajide respectively.
It disclosed that the suspect committed the act at No 26, Irewole Street, Oke Onitea Area, Osogbo at about 1:00am on September 9, 2018.
Furthermore, the charge sheet disclosed that the suspect broke the window and tore the window net of the house of one Prophetess Durotola Raji with intent to steal.
The charge sheet disclosed further that on October 10, 2018 at Dugbe police station, at about 8:30am, the suspect was caught in possession of two Tecno handset and Huawei phone which the suspect failed to give satisfactory account of how he got them.
The offence committed, the charge sheet disclosed is contrary to and punishable under section 412 of criminal code cap 34 vol.11 law of Osun state Nigeria, 2003.
However, the suspect pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against him.
The defence Counsel, Mr. Eze Ngwoke prayed the court to grant his client bail in most liberal and affordable terms.
The prosecutor, Mr. Jafani Muslim objected the bail of the suspect that if granted he will misuse the privilege of bail.
Presiding Magistrate, Mr. O.A Ayilara ordered that the suspect should be remanded in prison custody.
He later adjourned the case to October 10, 2018 for ruling.
