Man Jailed For Auto Spare Parts Theft

By Oluwayemisi Awe A 25-year-old, Kamoru Azeez has been jailed for 12 months by an Osogbo magistrate court for alleged auto spare part.

The accused person was docked on October 22, 2018 on one count charge to which he pleaded guilty.

The charge sheet revealed that the accused person stole one motor radiator valued  N35, 000, motor spring valued N25, 000, one Gales motor battery valued N17, 000 and the total valued of the properties stole was N77, 000 belonging to one Mr. Zakariyau Oyekola.

The charge sheet revealed that the accused person committed the crime on October 20, 2018 at about 6am at Mosadoluwa area, oke-baale, Osogbo.

According to the charge sheet, the offence committed by the suspect is contrary and punishable under section (390) (9) of criminal code cap 34 vol II Laws of Osun state.

When asked of his past records, the suspect revealed to the magistrate that he has been stealing for long but has always been pardoned.

The magistrate, O.A. Oloyade described the suspect as an unrepentant criminal and thereby convicted him as charged.

She then sentenced the culprit to 12 months imprisonment without option of fine and ordered that the exhibit should be returned to the owner.
