Man Loses N1.5m To Fraudsters Over Fake Prophecy

A young man (name withheld), has explained to the police operatives in Delta State how he lost the sum of N1.5 million to a fake prophecy.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on X.com on Tuesday, the fraudsters deceived the victim by claiming to have seen a bright future for him.

Sharing a video of the victim, Edafe wrote, “This chap was scammed over N1.5m by some suspects who claimed that they saw a bright future for him.

“They took him to a river in Osun State all in a bid to extract more money from him.

“The victim reported to the police when he realised what was happening. They were promptly arrested.”

In a video shared by Edafe, the victim explained that one of the suspects approached him, claiming to have seen a bright future around him, and requested that he purchase coconut and salt.

The victim stated in part, “A day came when one guy saw me. He said that he saw a bright future around me, He said there is one thing he is going to do for me.

“He said I should buy coconut and salt, and that I will give him the coconut, and he will take it to three junctions to pray for me.”
