A father of two, Olanrewaju Babatunde has raised alarm over the missing of his 8-year old son, Boluwatife on the CAC Ori-Oke Ayo Prayer Mountain, Opposite Onikoyi Palace in Ikoyi, Isokan Local Government Council Area of Osun, accusing the managers of the prayer mountain of complicity.
Olanrewaju said, he left Lagos for a prayers session for his missing child on the popular Ori-Oke Ikoyi Prayer Mountain, where he met one Pastor Micheal Ayeniromo, and after sharing his plight with him, the Pastor took him to another prayer mountain, CAC Orike-Ayo, few kilometer away from his original target on Wednesday, July 19, 2017.
He narrated that “At about 7pm on the following day, Thursday, Ayeniromo took me to a section of the CAC Ori-Oke Ayo Prayer Mountain for a vigil prayer, while my wife and two children were left in the auditorium of the church to sleep.
“I was shocked when about 4:30 am of Friday, we heard the shout of my wife that she could not find Boluwatife beside her where they were sleeping in the auditorium.
“We started searching for my missing child, but inspite my worries, the countenance of Pastor Ayeniromo, who is the second-in-command on the mountain and his principal showed that they were not bothered about the incident”, saying, this was what prompted him to approach Ikoyi Police station for complaint.
He said that he was also worried when the police officers on duty in Ikoyi Police Station did not show any concern, a situation that forced him to move to Apomun Police Station, from where he was asked to hire a vehicle, which conveyed him and the policemen back to the prayer mountain for investigation.
According to him, “Though, Pastor Ayeniromo and his principal were arrested, but on getting to the police station, I discovered that the man, who is the head of the church, started making phone calls and before you know, some people who I see to be influential had gathered and started discussing with the police.
“What I saw after then was that the man and Ayeniromo were asked to come and write statements in the station, while myself and my wife were sent out without allowing me as a complainant to make any statement and it was at this stage I became worry the more and since then I have been searching for the boy without the support of either the managers of the prayer mountain or the police.
“On Sunday, I was called to come back to the Police Station again, only to meet the people I suspect to be complicity and the policemen were telling them that ‘please don’t abandon us in this matter oh, come to our aid’. This surprised me a lot and made me to suspect that these people and the said police officers have something in common.
“The next thing was that the policemen asked me to go and bring the picture of the missing boy, three days after, but most worrisome aspect of it is that the policemen were telling me not to go to the prayer mountain again to look for the child, or else, I may be attacked.
“Since the missing of the boy, neither Pastor Ayeniromo, nor his Principal has ever showed seriousness towards his recovery”, he lamented.
Ayeniromo, when contacted on his telephone line confirmed that the boy was missing on the prayer mountain, but he has no information to give, as the police have taken up the matter.
