Man Remanded For Killing Foster Brother In Ondo
The Police in Ondo State have arrested a 23-year-old farm labourer, Monday Friday, for allegedly killing his foster brother, Emeka John.
Friday was said to have, hit the victim with a plank of wood on the head in Ondo State.
According to sources, the incident happened when the siblings were returning home from a night party in Leege village in Idanre LGA.
A source said, “The suspect who returned from the party alone claimed that he did not know the whereabouts of the victim.
“The following day, the corpse of the victim was found by a bush path with its head badly wounded.
“The suspect later confessed that he knew the cause of the victim’s death, saying he (victim) got drunk at the party and that on their way home a log tipper crushed him.”

Confirming the arrest, a police source told City & Crime that the suspect had been arraigned before a magistrates’ court on a count charge of murder.
A copy of the charge sheet reads in part: “That you, Friday Monday, aged 23, on May 10, 2024, at about 1 am at Leege village via Kajola in the Ondo State Magisterial District did kill one Emeka John (m) by hitting him with a wood on his head while conveying him to Modebioayo Camp.”
The source further said that the Magistrate, Toyin Olusola-Olujobi, ordered the remand of the defendant at the Olokuta Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to August 16.
