Man Stirs Controversy As He Claims To Be Wizkid’s Dad
A dramatic moment unfolded during a church programme when an elderly man boldly claimed that Nigerian Afrobeat superstar, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, is his biological son.
The revelation came in response to a prophecy by the presiding pastor, who was declaring divine insights into the man’s life. According to the pastor, the man is surrounded by wealthy individuals and millionaires.
Pastor said, “I want to pray for you. You have people around you that have money, millionaires.”
Affirming the prophecy, the man responded with a surprising declaration: “Yes, even my son, Wizkid.”
The pastor, seemingly caught off guard but trying to maintain composure, continued:
“I was about telling you, I’m seeing something as Wizkid….”
The man quickly interjected: “He’s my son. Wey Balogun na e marry his mama.”
The pastor tried to dig further: “I’m seeing something like, he is a musician, something like that? I saw a name like whisk…”
To which the man added more confidently: “Is Wizkid, Davido’s friend. Look him well. Look am very well. I’m the father of Wizkid.”
This encounter has since gone viral, sparking a wave of online reactions and skepticism from netizens. Many were critical of both the man’s claim and the pastor’s prophecy, questioning their authenticity and motive.

Some of the reactions are captured below:
@Sitoemmy: “My biggest problem is that the pastor is saying “I’m seeing” sir you are seeing nothing. This is the Wizkid dad we know.”
@Cryptobull_runs: “Only Wizkid’s late mom would have been able to tell us the truth.”
@DanielRegha: “Wizkid wouldn’t be his focus if he was poor and wretched; Now, assuming there’s some truth to this, where has he been? I don’t believe that he’s Wizkid’s biological dad, but if he truly is, I hate how he’s hinting on the ‘he’s a millionaire’ statement, reeks of entitlement and not genuine concern.”
@pbtips: “Where you dey since 1991? Your eba dey parlour no worry.”
@CA1CER: “Omo this country ehhh…… If them explain am give you and you understand……. It’s either them no explain well or you don mad.”
@Pretty_sike: “Wait! Is it just me or he just insinuated that Wizkid is bearing his step dad’s surname?
This might be true so my question is who messed up? Cos Wizkid obviously only acknowledges his mum Morayo, she must have raised him alone. Did pastor really hear from God or rumour has it?”
@kadmaye: “Miserable pastor is setting up this foolish man for destruction, even if u are wizkid’s biological dad, wizkid would deny you, wizkid hates foolishness, his only true parent died and that’s morayo.”
@d_chairman: “He should go and claim portable and leave Wizkid alone.”
@d3estiiny: “Pastors are to make up homes, when it comes to Africa they’re there to break up homes and destroy families, if true as a visionary pastor or a wise prophet there are things you don’t say out in public, ask the man to wait for you after the service.”
