There was palpable tension in Ado-Ekiti,Ekiti State on Thursday as the men of Oodua People Congress (OPC) and commercial motorcycle operators on Thursday engaged in a violent clash over the death of a motorcycle ticketing officer.
According to eye witnesses, the OPC and the commercial motorcycle operators during the clash, engaged one another with dangerous weapons such as cutlasses, and knives, among others, which rendered some of them injured.
One of the eyewitness who preferred anonymity, disclosed that the incident occurred when the motorcycle riders accused the OPC men of killing their ticketing officer.

The deceased was said to had been operating by the OPC office near the notorious Atikankan area of Ado Ekiti before his death.
The medium gathered that Police Rapid Response Squad were dispatched to the scene where six suspects were arrested.
When contacted,, the police spokesperson, SP Abutu Sunday said that the Command acted on a distress call from the area.
“On Thursday at about 11:20hrs, the Command received a distress call that some hoodlums were attacking and robbing innocent people in the Atikankan Area of Ado-Ekiti.
“The operatives of the RRS were deployed to the axis where six of the suspects were arrested.
“They are currently undergoing investigation. Efforts are underway to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.”
