May Edochie Slams ₦1bn Lawsuit On Ex-Lawyer For Cyberbullying, Defamation
May Edochie, estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has slammed a ₦1 billion lawsuit on her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, accusing him of defamation, cyberbullying and cyberstalking.
Through her legal representatives, Graylaw Partners, May issued a cease-and-desist notice alleging that Ugwuonye had persistently made damaging posts about her on social media.
The letter stated that his actions went beyond defamation and amounted to harassment, ridicule, and malicious attacks that threatened her safety.
“These posts are a calculated assault on our client’s reputation and have further imperiled her safety through malicious threats and false allegations. Beyond your own publications, you have incited third parties to amplify these communications, causing her severe and irreparable harm,” the notice read.
May demanded that Ugwuonye immediately stop all defamatory publications, retract previous posts, and tender a public apology across all his platforms.
She is also seeking ₦1 billion in damages for the harm caused, warning that failure to comply could lead to further legal action.
