Hundreds of Meek Mill’s supporters and his record label boss Rick Ross took to the streets of Philadelphia to demand for the rapper’s release from prison on Monday
Meek has since started serving a 2 to 4 year prison sentence for violating his probation. In addition to the rally, an online petition pushing for his release now has over 350,000 signatures.
MMG Boss, Rick Ross, 76ers legend Julius “Dr. J.” Erving, Eagles players and others joined thousands in the protest of a judge’s jail sentence in Meek Mill’s probation violation case in Philadelphia.
Malcolm Jenkins, Torrey Smith, Jalen Mills and Wendell Smallwood were among the Philadelphia Eagles teammates in attendance.
While addressing the crowd, Meek’s record label boss Rick Ross said:
“I’m here to support my brother Meek Mill. I want y’all to understand that if it takes Meek Mill to draw this attention, we gonna use Meek Mill to draw this attention that is gonna speak for so many others.”
According to reports, Joseph Tacopina, Mill’s attorney, is filing a motion for Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley to remove herself from the case, as well as an official complaint with the judicial conduct board over the judge’s sentence for Mill.
