Two men have allegedly been arrested in connection with the shooting outside a Meek Mill concert in 2016.
Recall that Travis Ward and Jaquan Graves were killed and two others were injured in the shooting which took place in the parking lot of the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, Connecticut shortly after the rapper’s show on 30 December 2016.
Police officials announced that 23-year-old Kyle Hampton and 33-year-old Tivon Edwards had been arrested. According to reports, both Hampton and Edwards have been charged with first-degree manslaughter with a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.
Hampton was also charged with tampering with evidence, while Edwards was hit with a count of criminal possession of a firearm. Police officials had previously said the shooting doesn’t appear to be directly related to the rapper, but the family of Ward are suing the hip-hop star, claiming his lyrics glorify violence and attracted thugs to the concert.
They filed the lawsuit against Meek, real name Robert Rihmeek Williams, and bosses of the theater in May, insisting they should have provided better security.
