A tragic incident occurred in the Gwagwalada Area of Abuja, where a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped to death by local miners.
According to reports, the girl had gone out to sell milk on Thursday but went missing only for her corpse to be found at the Tipper Garage area on Friday.
The council’s Secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Ibrahim Ciroma, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust through telephone on Sunday.

He said the corpse’s private parts were stained with blood and she was taken to the hospital where doctors confirmed that she was raped.
He further said, “The incident has been reported to the police, and God be the glory, some miners suspected to be behind the crime have been arrested.”
It was further learnt that the incident almost degenerated into a crisis as herders mobilised to the area in an attempt to attack the miners but the quick intervention of security agents doused the situation.
The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, saying “seven suspects had been arrested.”
