Sports minister Solomon Dalung has congratulated former chief coach of the Super Eagles Adegboyega Onigbinde on his 80th birthday.
Dalung described Onigbinde, who led Nigeria to the Korea/Japan 2002 World Cup, in as successful and achieving coach.
He said, “Chief Adegboyega Onigbinde is a highly respected Nigerian soccer tactician who also served as CAF and FIFA Technical instructor. His contribution to the development of football in the country is greatly appreciated. On this special day, we pray that God will preserve his life with good health. We wish him many more years.”
Onigbinde managed Shooting Stars and helped Nigeria reach the final of the 1984 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
