Mohbad’s Mother Reveals Why Singer Kept Marriage, Son’s Birth Private
The mother of the late singer Mohbad, Abosede has claimed that her son kept his marriage to Omowunmi and the birth of his child secret due to fear and pressure from his former record label boss, Naira Marley.
Speaking during a recent live session on TikTok, she said, “My son lived in fear all his life. It was because of Naira Marley that he did not make his wedding and the birth of his son public. Mohbad was a good man. He never trafficked cocaine. I say this with conviction.”
She also accused Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, of deliberately stalling the DNA test to confirm the paternity of Liam, the singer’s son.
“Jossy is the one delaying the DNA test. We are ready for it. Wunmi must do the DNA because of Liam. I know he is my grandchild. When Mohbad was alive, he never said Liam was not his,” she stated.

Abosede recalled that Aloba took pictures with Liam just days before Mohbad’s death, suggesting he never questioned the child’s paternity.
She insisted her son was a decent man and dismissed allegations linking him to drug trafficking.
Addressing another controversy, she clarified that Mohbad’s brother, Adura, was not the person who contacted actor Yomi Fabiyi regarding the singer’s death.
She accused Fabiyi of trying to implicate Adura based on claims made by another individual, Damola.
Omowunmi, Mohbad’s widow, had earlier criticised Aloba for avoiding the DNA test, further fuelling speculation about his motives.
Mohbad passed away on 12 September 2023 under controversial circumstances.
His body was exhumed nine days later for an autopsy, but the case remains unresolved as family disputes continue to make headlines.
