Morocco Declared AFCON Champions As Senegal Stripped Of Title
Morocco have been awarded victory in the AFCON final via a 3-0 walkover over Senegal, after the latter was stripped of the title in unprecedented scenes.
The CAF African Nations Championships appeal board has ruled Senegal forfeited the final upholding an appeal by Morocco. It comes after the Senegal team walked off protesting a Morocco penalty during the final in January this year. CAF say this is a breach of Article 84.
In a detailed statement, the CAF Appeal Board confirmed that the appeal lodged by the FRMF was “declared admissible in form and the appeal is upheld.

The landmark comes after the extraordinary scenes in Rabat in January, where the Lions of Teranga walked off the pitch in protest, leading to a retrospective 3-0 forfeit victory for the host nation.
