Moshood Jimoh Replaces Ishola As Lagos Police Commissioner

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command, replacing CP Ishola Olanrewaju Olawale.
In a statement, the Head Public Relations Unit of the commission, Ikechukwu Ani said the appointment was approved on Monday, February 17, 2025, during a session chaired by the Commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd.), alongside Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje (rtd.), and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (rtd.)
Before his new posting, Jimoh, a seasoned officer from Kwara State, served as the Commissioner of Police at the Ports Authority, Eastern Ports.
He has held several key positions, including Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner at the Airport Police, Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner for General Investigation.

According to the statement, “Jimoh has undergone extensive professional training both locally and internationally. His credentials include training in combat operations at the Mobile Training College in Maiduguri, anti-hijacking tactics at Yunnan Police College in China, and maritime rescue at China Maritime Academy in Ningbo. He has also attended specialized courses in the United States, South Korea, and at the China Executive Leadership Academy.
“A recognized expert in public relations, Jimoh is a recipient of the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), honoring his contributions to the field”.
His appointment is expected to bring fresh leadership to the Lagos State Command, as he takes over from CP Ishola Olanrewaju.
