A woman and his son have been killed in Modakeke, Ife East Area Office of the State of Osun.
OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the woman and her son were gruesomely murdered in the early hours of Tuesday by unknown assailants while walking to their farm in Alapata village, between Ife and Modakeke.
The death of the people, who were residents of Modakeke, has been generating tension in the town as youths were seeking revenge of their death.
The youths and residents of the town, upon receiving the news of the death of the deceased, moved en masse to the scene of the incident and took the corpses to the palace of the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Moses Oyeniran.
Oba Oyeniran pleaded with the aggrieved youths and residents to allow the community leaders and the Police investigate the matter.
Sources in the town, who spoke with OSUN DEFENDER under condition of anonymity said: “A woman and her son were killed on Tuesday at Alapata village. Their bodies were taken first to the palace and then to Oke Otububu Police Station.
The state’s Police Public Relation Officer, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.
