A 23-year-old motorcycle repairer, Toheeb Oladosu, has been arraigned before a magistrate’s court for allegedly absconding with one of his customers’ bike in Osogbo, State of Osun.
Oladosu was said to have absconded with a motorcycle which was given to him for repair without the consent of the owner.
According to the charge sheet obtained by OSUN DEFENDER on Tuesday, Oladosu committed the offence in the month of June 2021 at Kelebe Area, Osogbo.
The charge sheet alleged that Oladosu stole the motorcycle with registration number GNN 861 QG, valued N180,000, property of one Kabiru Abdulrauf, which was given to him for repair.
The alleged offence contravened Sections 516, 383 and 249(7) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol.II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
But, the accused person pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge of stealing, unlawful conversion and breach of peace preferred against him.
Defence counsel, Okobe Nagite, prayed the court to admit Oladosu to bail on a liberal term, stating that he was ready to stand trial and would provide a reliable surety.
However, Magistrate A. A. Adebanjo, admitted the defendant to bail in sum of N200,000 with a surety.
The case was adjourned till October 14, 2021 for mention.
