Multiple Injured As BRT Buses Collide In Lagos
A late-night collision between two government-owned Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicles in Lagos State has resulted in multiple injuries among passengers.
Osun Defender gathered that the incident occurred at approximately 11:39 pm on Tuesday at Iyana Ipaja, inward pleasure, in Alimosho Local Government.
The Head of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Nosa Okunbor, said the accident happened when one BRT bus attempted to avoid hitting a commercial motorcyclist who was illegally using the BRT corridor.

In doing so, Okunbor said the bus collided with another oncoming BRT bus, resulting in a severe impact that left many passengers injured.
He added that LASEMA responded promptly to distress calls and dispatched its Dolphin Response Team from Igando Base to the scene of the accident.
“Upon arrival, they found two BRT buses involved in the accident, with passengers suffering various degrees of injuries.
“Fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident, thanks to the swift response of emergency services.
“The injured passengers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment before the response team arrived.
“LASEMA officials worked tirelessly to ensure that all those affected received the necessary medical attention and support,” he added.
