Murdered Osun LG Chairman Laid To Rest Amidst Tears (Photos, Video)

The former Chairman of Irewole Local Government, Osun State, Mr Remi Abass, who was reportedly reinstated by the Court of Appeal last week and killed by hoodlums yesterday, has been laid to rest.
Mourners, overflowing in tears, gathered in his hometown on Tuesday as he was buried according to Islamic rites.
Islamic clerics led the funeral prayers, offering supplications for the deceased.

It will be recalled that Abass was killed during an exchange of gunfire while attempting to take over the council secretariat in Ikire.
Several others sustained injuries in the incident.
Following the chaos, hoodlums reportedly stormed the highway, firing sporadically into the air, causing panic among residents.
Motorists were forced to make detours to avoid being caught in the crossfire.
