Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Barrister Kolapo Alimi, has refuted allegations that ₦3.7 billion was misappropriated under his watch as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during the administration of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

In a swift response to the claims made by a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke (Banik), Alimi described the accusations as “false, malicious, and defamatory,” insisting they were concocted to tarnish his reputation.

The Commissioner further warned that if Adeleke and Olawumi, failed to retract the statements and apologise publicly, he would seek legal redress over the matter.

The allegations surfaced during a media parley organized by the NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel in Osogbo, where Adeleke claimed that official bank documents showed a pattern of suspicious cash withdrawals during Alimi’s tenure.

Adeleke specifically accused Alimi of overseeing suspicious cash withdrawals, including; ₦600 million withdrawn in a single day through multiple ₦10 million transactions, ₦70 million withdrawn in one day by a former ALGON Secretary, who now serves air jordan 4 military blue 2024 as a Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke, multiple withdrawals allegedly totaling over ₦100 million in one day, with claims that funds were siphoned through different names.

“I want to categorically state that the allegations are false, malicious, and defamatory, made specifically to tarnish my image,” he stated.
