Alhaji Nura Ubali, Head Of Department (HOD), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) of the LGA disclosed in Dutse on Tuesday that Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa has spent N4 million on the rehabilitation of boreholes in 10 wards across the council area.
Ubali said that that the gesture was part of the local government resolve and commitment to provide clean and potable water to its citizens.
”We have 10 electoral wards in the local government area and all the boreholes in the local government were all rehabilitated.
”Most outbreak of communicable and water borne diseases were as a result of dirty environment and dirty drinking water.
”Therefore, the local government is determined to tackling these problems by providing safe drinking water,” the HOD said.
Ubali urged the people to protect the generators and other equipment in their various communities from vandalism.
