The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has said it will probe the Manager of a Globus Bank branch in Bayelsa State, Padewari Aladeh over alleged N78 million fraud.

This follows a money laundering allegation made against him by one Joshua Akpevwe.

Akpevwe had in a viral video accused his client – Mr Quincy Ovigueraye of using his bank account to launder money for Aladeh.

He also said his life has been under threat after making the video and reporting the alleged money laundering case to the EFCC.

However, Mr Aladeh, in a telephone interview with Sahara Reporters on Friday, denied the allegation and accused Ovigueraye of carrying out the alleged N78 million fraud.

Aladeh, who promised to make himself available for EFCC interrogation insisted that Ovigueraye should also be invited.

Aladeh further accused Ovigueraye of fraudulently transferring N78 million from a female customerโ€™s bank account to the latterโ€™s bank account in tranches.

โ€œI have no reason to not honour an invitation by the EFCC. If they invite me, Iโ€™ll make myself available. However, they need to also invite Quincy (Ovigueraye).

โ€œQuincy is the fraudster, and we have reported him to the police and heโ€™s on the run. He transferred N78 million from a female customerโ€™s bank account to his own bank accounts. He transferred N40 million to his GTB account and N38 million to his UBA account.

โ€œI donโ€™t know Joshua Akpevwe from anywhere, I have never met him before. But since he said Quincy is his friend, he might need to provide him to the authorities.โ€

When contacted over the development, the spokesperson for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, said the anti-graft commission will look into the petition.

Oyewale said, โ€œSince theyโ€™ve put a petition before us, weโ€™ll look into it.โ€
