Nasarawa Senator Dumps PDP, Gives Reasons
The senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Ogoshi Onawo, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party.
Onawo announced his decision in a resignation letter dated January 10, 2026, addressed to the chairman of the PDP in Galadimawa Ward, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The federal lawmaker in the letter, said, “I write to formally notify you of my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Galadimawa Ward, Doma Local Government Area, with effect from today, 10th January, 2026″.
The senator explained that the decision was based solely on personal considerations.
“This decision has been taken after careful consideration and is purely for personal reasons,” he said.
In the letter, Onawo expressed appreciation to the party leadership, members and supporters for the opportunity to serve under the PDP platform.
“I wish to sincerely thank the party leadership, members, and supporters for the opportunity and platform afforded me over the years to serve my people in various capacities,” he said.
He also acknowledged the support he received during his time in the PDP and wished the opposition party continued success.
“I remain deeply grateful for the trust, cooperation, and support I received throughout my time in the party.
“Please accept my appreciation and best wishes for the continued progress and success of the party,” he added.
