Nigeria experienced yet another blackout as the national grid collapsed once more on Monday, plunging some parts of the country into darkness.
It was observed that total generation on the grid dropped to zero as of 1:33 pm on Monday.
Osun Defender recalls this is the fifth collapse in 2024.
An official of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, who confirmed the incident to PUNCH said it was a partial collapse.
The TCN official, who did not want to be named because he was not authorised to speak to the press, said that power is being restored gradually.
The last time the country was plunged into darkness due to the grid failure was on 6 July, 2024.
