National Grid Collapses For Second Time In 3 Days

Nigeria’s national grid collapsed again on Thursday leaving many in darkness.

The bulk power supply was disrupted around 11:20am on Thursday as confirmed on X by Nigeria National Grid via @NationalGridNg

It tweeted: “BREAKING: Another Grid Setback Experienced.”

This is the second time the grid has collapsed this week and the 12th time in the last eleven months.

The development has stirred mixed reactions on social media among Nigerians with some calling for the sacking of the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.

Meanwhile, the Transmission Company of Nigeria has not issued an official statement on the reason the grid collapsed again on Thursday.

Reacting to the latest setback, an X user, @Arakunrin_MFR, said, “The National Grid appears to have a genotype SS since it is impossible to have a strong gene and be dying every day. National grid needs national help National grid needs national prayer”.
