The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has accredited 10 new courses for the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
This development came into the limelight following the resources inspection carried out by the Board at the institution from February 7–10, 2024, as claimed in a statement signed by the Director of Polytechnic Programmes, Arc Ngbede Ogoh, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the Board.
Meanwhile, the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Abiodun Oloyede, revealed that the new course spread across the Faculty of Engineering; Science; Information and Communication Technology, and Management Studies.
The approved new courses at the National Diploma (ND) levels include; Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Water Resources Engineering Technology, Agricultural Technology, Geological Technology, Health Information Management, and Public Administration.
Others also approved at the Higher National Diploma (HND) Levels are; Agricultural and Bio-Enviromental Engineering Technology (Farm Power and Machinery Option), Agricultural and Bio-Enviromental Engineering Technology (Soil and Water Option), Agricultural and Bio-Enviromental Engineering Technology (Post-Harvest Option), and Science Laboratory Technology (Physics with Electronics Option).
However, the institution is expected to commence the newly accredited courses for the 2023–2024 academic session.
