NBTE Approves All OSPOLY ND, HND Programmes

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has approved all the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes presented for accreditation by the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.

It would be recalled that the NBTE officials visited the institution between January 5 and 8, 2020 for the accreditation and re-accreditation of the courses, during which the laboratories, studios, workshops, libraries, personnel and other facilities were verified for pedagogical and administrative functions.

During the visitation, the NBTE officials commended the management of the institution for the availability of the state-of-the-arts equipment and high-ranking administrative and academic personnel available in the polytechnic.

The NBTE in a letter signed by its Director, Polytechnic Programmes, Mr. Musa Isgogo, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the board, Dr. Mas’udu Adamu Kazaure said all the courses presented for accreditation have been approved.

The letter which was addressed to the OSPOLY Rector, Dr. Woye Olaniran, reads: “With reference to the accreditation visitation carried out by the Board, the Board has approved the accreditation of the following programmes offered by your institution for a period of five years with effect from 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 respectively.”

The courses according to the statement include: ND and HND Office Technology & Management, ND Computer Science, HND Marketing and HND Science Laboratory Science. Others are ND and HND Mass Communication, ND Welding and Fabrication, ND Mechanical Engineering, ND Building Technology and HND Civil Engineering.

Olaniran while reacting to the approval of the academic programmes and administrative facilities in the polytechnic, described it as a remarkable achievement on the part of the government of the state, management, staff and students of the polytechnic.

The rector promised to ensure that the polytechnic sustains its impartation of knowledge and moral values in the lives of its students; in order to make them successful in their respective vocations.

He maintained that the polytechnic would not relent in sustaining and projecting its motto of Excellence in Character and Technology.

Olaniran commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), NBTE and other regulatory authorities for their unflinching support towards making the polytechnic an enviable citadel of learning among its peers.
