The founder and Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress Party NDCP, Dr Johnson Edosomwan has advocated for the emancipation of the girl child to achieving a better tomorrow for them.
Edosomwan also advised Nigerian leaders to support the girl child to achieving their futuristic goals.
Speaking at the launch of a book called “Moremi” by the House of Oduduwa Foundation in conjunction with the Johnson Edosomwan Foundation at the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife.
Dr Edosomwan said his foundation has touched lives across the globe on many projects including, water, scholarship for students, empowerment for women and the girl child among others.
He called on relevant stakeholders to take serious projects aimed at giving the girl child a sense of belonging in the society as well as their safety from harassment, rape and social vices.
The event was witnessed by over 200 Yoruba Obas and chiefs including Governors of Ogun and Ondo States among other dignitaries.
