The Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties in Osun State, Engr. Olalekan Badmus, has sued for peace among the people of the state, stressing the need for all new year celebrants against extremism.
The Commissioner gave the charge in a statement to commemorate the yuletide in Osogbo.
Engr. Badmus congratulated the entire people of the state for being counted among survivors of the expiring year noting that it was a great divine gift to be alive.
According to him, “I want to identify with our people today and of course rejoice for what we have enjoyed from January till December, 2021. God has been really faithful and merciful and we thank him for that.
“While we are celebrating, we must remember that our security matters a lot. We must not compromise the peace of the state. We must also seek to avoid extremism when going about our feasting.
“We have every right to celebrate the New Year, in whichever way we deem right but we must preserve ourselves and our neighborhood.”
