A newlywed woman, Habiba Ibrahim, was alleged to have cut off the manhood of her 40-year-old husband, Salisu Idris.
The incident according to sources, happened after the husband returned from the mosque where he observed the early morning Muslim prayers on May 26.
The sources said no reason was given for her action, but she was reported to have been arrested by the police in the Zaria area of Kaduna State.

The husband, a commercial motorcycle rider, while narrating his ordeal, explained that as he was lying on his bed, his wife suddenly pounced on him with a sharp knife and almost cut off his manhood.
He, however, said that for the timely intervention of his neighbour, his wife would have succeeded in cutting off his manhood completely, adding that he was shocked by his wife’s action.
Idris noted that no misunderstanding before his wife’s action.
It was gathered that Idris was immediately rushed to General Hospital, Makarfi from where he was later referred to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria for medical attention.
“I’m more concerned about my health right now and not thinking of remarrying shortly,” he said.
