The Super Eagles dropped one place from 50th to 51st position in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Thursday on FIFA’s official website.

Following their drop in the rankings, the Eagles are now number nine in Africa.

The Eagles’ Group D 2018 FIFA World Cup opponents Argentina, Croatia and Iceland also did not move too much in the rankings.

Seychelles who will be hosting the Eagles on matchday two in Group E of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in October next year, were down three places to 192.

Group E leaders Libya did not do better as they dropped to 88 and South Africa remained 81st.

World champions Germany remain number one and are followed by Brazil. European champions Portugal are number three and Argentina are number four.

In number five are Belgium, Spain are sixth, Poland are seventh, Switzerland are eighth, France ninth and Chile 10th.
