Nigeria Won’t Reach Its True Potentials Under Corrupt Leaders – Inibehe Effiong

Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, has said Nigeria will never achieve its true potentials as long as corrupt and incompetent leaders continue to rule the country.

Effiong, in a post on X on Sunday, urged Nigerians to confront what he described as a “rotten system” instead of expecting “criminally minded politicians” to reform themselves.

He argued that believing such leaders would one day work for the progress of the nation was a delusion.

Effiong wrote, “Nigeria will never fulfil its true potentials as long as Nigerians continue to allow the worst among them to rule the country.

“The expectation that the criminals and criminally minded politicians who are ruining the country will someday become circumspect, and begin to work for the progress of Nigeria is delusional.

“We either confront this rotten system and those operating it or we live in perpetual servitude.”
