The Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS has dismissed nine officers and compulsorily retired 25 others for various offences against standard practices in line with the powers of the Controller-General of Corrections as contained in the Nigerian Correctional Service Act, 2019.
This was revealed in a statement signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Umar, the Controller-General, Haliru Nababa made the announcement after approval by the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Board, CDCFIB.
Nababa assures the public that the Service will not relent in ridding its workforce of bad eggs and warns that there would be no room for indolence and other acts against discipline in the Service.
He also urged members of the public to accept offenders that have served terms and shown enough penitence in order to break the circle of re-offending and assured of his administration’s readiness to reward officers and men who are hardworking and committed to duty.
