‘Nigerians Are Hungry’: Ondo Youths Join Nationwide June 12 Protest
Youths in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Thursday took to the streets to join the nationwide June 12 protest.
They voiced their anger over the rising cost of living, worsening insecurity, and what they described as the failure of democratic governance in the country.

Chanting “Nigerians are hungry! Is this democracy?”, the protesters marched through major parts of the city, demanding urgent government intervention in the face of growing economic hardship and deteriorating public welfare.
The demonstration, which coincided with the nation’s Democracy Day celebration, mirrored similar protests held across other states.
