Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, Dr.Najeem Salaam has called on all stakeholders to make the project Nigeria their own by efficiently partaking in governance and neighborhood security.
The Speaker said this in an Independent Day message signed by his Chief Press Secretary Mr.Goke Butika and made available to journalists in Osogbo.
Salaam congratulated the entire people of Nigeria for witnessing this year anniversary while urging them to continue to support present government led by President Muhammadu Buhari .
He advised the people to remain dedicated to the nation building and work against ethnicity, sentiment, while also canvassing for projecting the country positively through good conducts.
He lauded the fore-fathers who fought for the nation’s freedom from colonial masters that oppressed and destabilized the nation.
He said the nation’s past leaders deserve honour for their efforts on nation building and stability.
According to him,”our nation is too lucky to be together till this moment despite all the odds around the country. We all need to work for its progress, unity, and peace at all cost because of what binds us together”.
The lawmaker urged the nation to remain hopeful in all things with the assurance of better tomorrow if its people did not relent.
He gave kudos to well deserved leaders like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sir. Ahmadu Bello, Dr. Nnamid Azikwe, Sir.Tafawa Balewa, Chief Jaja Nwanzukwu, Mrs. Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, Chief Samuel Akintola who did not relent on their struggle for the country’s independent.
He also lauded the efforts put in place by the Nigeria media to send the colonial masters parking from Nigeria.
He advised people of the country to continue to support the government of All Progressives Congress [APC] under President Buhari for the dividend of good governance.
