Nigerien Bags 16month Jail For Stealing N9.2m Building Materials

A Magistrate Court in Osogbo, Osun State has sentenced a 23-year-old Nigerien, Abdulkabir Adamu to 16months Imprisonment for stealing building material valued N9.2million.

The defendant Abdulkabir Adamu who had no representation pleaded guilty to the two count charges preferred against him by the police.

The prosecutor, Inspector Oladoye Joshua informed the court that the accused person stole Building Materials Valued N9.2m property of one Cletus Okpara on December 2017.

He further stated that the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 516,383(1),390(9)of the criminal code cap 34 vol1.11 laws of Osun State of Nigeria.

The convict pleaded that the court should temper justice with mercy and allow him to go scot free

The Magistrate, M.A Awodele sentenced the accused person to 16 months imprisonment with no option of fine.
