NJC Recommends Kekere-Ekun As New CJN
The National Judicial Council has recommended Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun to be the next Chief Justice of Nigeria.
The recommendation was put forward during a sudden, closed-door meeting that had originally been scheduled for Friday but was rescheduled to Thursday in Abuja. This shift in schedule allowed the NJC to address key issues earlier than anticipated.
During the ongoing meeting, the NJC also recommended 27 individuals for appointment as judges of various state high courts. These recommendations are part of the council’s broader efforts to strengthen the judiciary across the country.
