The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday visited his hometown in Isiama Afara, Abia State.Kanu met with his parents and was also at the Enugu Cenotaph for a private prayer and to honour those who lost their lives during the Nigeria-Biafra civil war.
Kanu was set free from Kuje Prisons in Abuja penultimate Friday after meeting the bail conditions imposed for his release.His father, Eze Israel Kanu, told an online platform: “My heart is full of joy over his return. I am extremely grateful to God who has done this, because it could only have been Him.”
Residents, many of who thronged the palace of his father to welcome him, reportedly welcomed the IPOB leader into his hometown in merriment with gunshots salutes.
