Osun United will today Saturday, March 27 trade tackles with Delta Force in the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) which enters Week 9 this weekend.
The Omoluabi Giants, who were pegged back and dropped to 5th position on Group B1 log after a disastrous 0-1 home loss to Rovers FC of Calabar would want to bounce back with victory to reclaim their second position.
Delta Force on the other hand are battling with relegation as they are among the bottom three. They have garnered 7 points in as many games this season.
While Osun United lost their last match at Ilorin, Kwara State which was their adopted home as a result of the punishment from NNL for breaching Covid-19 rule, Delta Force couldn’t honour their week 8 fixture against Dynamite Force at Iyamho as they are among the 12 teams who have allegedly signified intention to pull out of the league.
The last time Osun United clashed with Delta Force was in 2017 NNL. During the two legged meetings, while Osun United won at Osogbo by a lone goal scored by Victor Okeji through an astonishing bicycle kick, Delta Force soared to victory in the reverse fixture with 2 unreplied goals.
Today’s match will kick off 4pm at the J.J Okocha Stadium, Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.
