NNPCL Debunks Rumour Of Hike In Petrol Price
The Management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has refuted claims that it is planning to increase its Premium Motor Spirit, commonly referred to as petrol pump price.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that since the removal of the subsidy on petrol, NNPC has increased its prices at least twice.
The first was in May 2023 after the inauguration address of President Bola Tinubu where he announced the removal of fuel subsidy. NNPC directed its outlets nationwide to sell fuel between N480 and N570 per litre.
Also in June 2023, Petroleum pump price rose to N617 per litre at various outlets of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
The company, in a statement shared Friday on X, said it does not have the intention to increase its PMS pump prices as widely speculated.
The statement read, “Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated. Please buy the best quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide.”
