The All Progressives Congress in the state of Osun has categorically refuted the story published by the Independent Newspaper which gave the impression that the party leaders and elders were in disagreement with Gov Rauf Aregbesola over the issue of where the governorship candidate should emerge from and when to lift the ban on political activities for the purpose of the next governorship election.
In response to the publication, the party’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Kunle Oyatomi has described the story in its entirety as a fabrication and that there’s no iota of truth in it.
According to the party chieftain, there was no disagreement whatsoever at that meeting and that the leaders did not even discuss the issues the publication reported.
“What the meeting set out to discuss was a review of the last local government election and measures required to strengthen the party structure throughout the state
“It is rather unfortunate that the newspaper has been misled by unscrupulous individuals who fabricated the story for whatever undue advantage they thought they could gain from it.
“In the process, the newspaper itself has misled the public and tarnished its credibility.
“We hope in the future, this kind of error will not occur and the newspaper should always try to seek information from the appropriate quarters.
