AMID state-ownership crisis rocking Ori-Oke Erinmo, a popular prayer mountain in Erinmo-Ijesa, Oriade local government of Osun State, a 90-year-old woman, Mrs. Ibipoju Oyeyemi, has come out to give historical fact on how the mountain came to being.
OSUN DEFENDER had earlier reported that the family members of Late Prophet Joseph Odeyemi Bojesomo, the prophet of the mountain, are taking steps to cede the mountain to Efon Alaye, Ekiti State.
Bojesomo is an indigene of Efon Alaye.
However, Oyeyemi, in an interview with OSUN DEFENDER yesterday disclosed that the mountain was located in Erinmo-Ijesa and was discovered by the people of the town.
The nonagenarian claimed that there’s a particular stream on the mountain which cures all ailments, including barrenness.
Oyeyemi stated that Bojesomo and his wife came to the mountain when they were praying God to give them a child.
She said the late prophet and his wife stayed back and started worshiping at the mountain when God answered their prayer.
“The mountain belongs to Erinmo. The mountain was established by God, not human being. We were earlier worship at Ori-Oke otito before we discovered the mountain. So, our fathers were directed to the place and they found out that the mountain is anointed by God.
“There was a particular water on that mountain. The water can only be fetched by a male. No female must go there to fetch water. The water is specially made for those seeking child bearing. It also cures all other ailments.
“The late Bojesomo came from Efon Alaye to the mountain to seek God’s face for him and his wife to bear child. He was a hunter then. Eventually, his wife gave birth and they joined us on the mountain since that time. I was surprised when the children of the late prophet are claiming ownership of the mountain and making attempt to cede it to Efon Alaye.
“The mountain belongs to Erinmo. When crisis started over the ownership of the mountain, we began to see different charms and sacrifices. That is why I seized going there”.
